Israeli power metallers Desert have released a brand new video for the song Son Of A Star, a track from their Never Regret album. This video is the second clip released as a support for the Never Regret album which was released during 2015 via Raven Music and Irond Records.
This video was filmed and produced by Vadim Mechona, who’s known by his previous works with Desert’s Never Regret and also Orphaned Land’s Let The Truce Be Known videos. The shooting process took place at the Ha-Makhtesh Ha-Katan location, a geological erosional landform in Israel’s Negev desert, in extremely hot conditions, with the thermometer reaching 43 degrees celsius during filming!
The storyline of the video and the song itself are based on the story of Shimon Bar Kochva’s rebellion against Roman Empire in 132-135 CE in the area of ancient Judea and describes it’s tragic fall in the striving for freedom of the Jewish state.
The fighters of historical fencing club The Knights Of Jerusalem took an active part in this video shooting process. All the costumes used in the video were produced and based on their historical predecessors.
Part of the funds for a video shooting were raised during the band’s Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, meaning the band’s fans were involved in the process as well.
