Brit AOR titans FM are celebrating the thirtieth Anniversary of their second album Tough It Out with the release of a new double live album, Tough It Out Live. Originally released by Epic Records in 1989, Tough It Out broke into the UK Top 40 and saw contributions from song writing luminaries such as Desmond Child (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, et cetera), Jesse Harms and Robin and Judith Randall (Mark Free). The record is understandably regarded as a melodic rock/AOR classic and the band played it in its entirety on their last shows of 2019 in the UK and Germany to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the release.

In addition to the tracks from the Tough It Out album, this live release is complemented by a number of tracks which FM have rarely performed live, cherry picked to offer a setlist that gives the discerning fan a great insight into the band’s deeper repertoire.

Sentinel Daily editor Scott Adams has been having a listen to the album, and had this to say… “I was a massive FM fan ‘back in the day’ – I’m even in the original video for one of the singles from Tough It Out, Someday (You’ll Come Running) – and I probably saw the band as a paying punter more than any other as a young rocker. Tough It Out was a superb album, but label Epic just about wrote the book on how not to break a band that had the looks, the chops and the songs with that release… It’s great to see the band in fine fettle ripping through the album in it’s entirety here, and especially great to hear that those tear-jerking harmonies are still in top notch working order… And then there’s side two of the record, wherein the band visits what ‘heads’ in the industry like to refer to as the ‘deep cuts’ including a rock solid and uber-heavy version of my fave FM song ever, Dangerous… There’s even an appearance from former keyboarder Didge Digital! Seriously, brothers and sisters, it doesn’t get much better than this!”
