Chicago’s best kept rock n’roll secret are back with a riotous collection of trousers-round-the-ankles rock n’roll! You Have The Right To Remain Sexy is a ludicrously priapic romp through the hinterland of low-slung American punk n’roll, liberally spiced up with a heavy dose of Scandi sex drive – in other words, just the kinda schtick we love here at Sentinel Daily

I Love Rich have been at this game for some while, but with titanic anthems like Rock and Roll Sex Cult and I Paid In Sex (a glam slammer of absolutely ludicrous proportions), they’ve surely never sounded better. Gloriously gonzoid in every respect, this quartet have got a rather large love gun – but, more importantly, they bloody well know how to use it…

Vocalisin’ bassist Rich has a hint of Paul Stanley in his pipes – if Paul Stanley was fronting, say, The Dictators – but whilst this is a retro rockin’ festivus of some degree I Love Rich remain gloriously on the right side of pastiche or nostalgia. Old fashioned their noise might be, but my word we need brainless rock and roll thrills more now than we have at any time since this kind of tuneage was genuinely new and exciting – so more power to these guys!

Drummer Drew lays down the street beats thick and juicy – his work on the semi-title track is both earthshaking and groovy – whilst axe duo Chuck E. Sleez and Full Throttle bring the six string thunder in all it’s goosbump-inducing glory. Standout track Rock and Roll Conspiracy is where everything gels best, and it’s here that I Love Rich hits hardest. Tight hooks, blazing lead work, pummelling percussion and fantastic gang vocals all combine to get the juices flowing in the sort of fashion we haven’t experienced round these parts the Hell City Glamours were in their pomp – in short, they are rather good indeed!

I Love Rich aren’t reinventing any wheels with this album, but they’re having a hell of a lot of fun doing what they do and sometimes that’s enough – This is a record that’s going to bring a lot of smiles to a lot of faces, you mark my words…

You Have The Right… To Remain Sexy is out now.
