Featuring members of the Devin Townsend Project, Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Threat Signal, and more, Imonolith’s musical pedigree is highly impressive, but they won’t just be relying on that to get their message across!

They demand attention from the second their music starts. From their entrancing and memorable vocal melodies to their crushing, unforgettable guitar riffs right up to their driven, hypnotic grooves, Imonolith’s music speaks for itself.

The band was formed in February 2018 by drummer, Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project/Band) and fellow DTP guitarist, Brian Waddell.

The pair had originally started writing music for Imonolith in 2015, while playing in the Devin Townsend Project (2009-2018). ‘RVP’ and Waddell then recruited their good friend and bassist Byron Stroud (Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory), vocalist  Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea) and second guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) to complete the line up and set about writing their debut album.

Through just announcing the band on social media and without releasing a single official track, they have amassed a dedicated legion of supporters world-wide, their fans chomping at the bit to see what these creative minds will serve up!

The interaction between Imonolith and their supporters is paramount to the bands long term vision…This is their journey too!

RVP says of Imonolith coming together: “Hollow is a song about the personal battles we all can face internally. Social pressures and self expectation can drive you to a point of feeling hollow inside if you don’t meet specific standards in your mind. The song itself actually has a positive message built into it. It’s not about feeling hollow, it’s more about preventing that hollow feeling that any one of us can develop through negative thinking and limited beliefs”

Hollow serves as a great introduction to the band, however fans can expect many surprises as they unveil more music. RVP continues: “As for Hollow musically, it represents the catchier side of Imonolith’s music. We have varying influences spread throughout the band and we don’t like to play just one style of music. We have a more metal crushing side, a catchier radio side and then music that fits in-between our heavy and catchier vibes. We always aim to make, Imonolith’s overall sound diverse and interesting. Most of all, we’re always focused on trying to write a great song, no matter if it’s heavy or catchy.”

With every member of Imonolith a seasoned veteran of the studio and the road, they are incredibly excited to deliver their music to the world. Their passion for playing live is also their motivation to execute their brand of heavy music world-wide in as many venues and live settings as possible.

Having performed in practically every country on planet earth through their previous associated acts and usually in front of feverishly zealous crowds, they know how to whip people into a frenzy and are preparing to do that again as Imonolith and touring plans for 2019 are well under way!

Hollow was produced, recorded and mixed by the powerhouse production team made up of Brian Howes and Jay Van Poederooyen (Nickelback, Chris Cornell, Airbourne, Hinder, Daughtry) at Van Howes Studios in Los Angeles, California.

Imonolith’s debut album is being scheduled for released in mid 2019 and will followed up with extensive touring!
