Following their much-acclaimed, last studio album Born Demon (released in October 2022 via Drakkar Entertainment, much to the delight of Sentinel Daily‘s Ferry Templeton, who raved about the album at the time), Norwegian trve heavy metal trio Sahg has shared a brand new single from their upcoming EP, entitled More of Nothing! Featuring four previously-unreleased songs, Sahg’s new EP will be available in digital format on November 29, 2024.
After Sahg recently shared the EP title track, the band is now premiering Children of the Revolution, a cover version of UK glam rock pioneers T.Rex!
Sahg frontman Olav Iversen reveals: “We have worked onward as the ‘Toxic Trio’ since Born Demon, and passed even new limits for what this three-piece can achieve. While recording the new EP, we had some time to play around with cover songs. And when discussing which songs to jam, one of the crucial questions became ‘What’s the heaviest riff in history?’ One of the very first songs that came to mind was Children of the Revolution by T.Rex. It is so epic and simplistic, and weighs a million tons. We thought we would try to slow it down and tune it even lower than the original, but ended up with the same tempo and tuning. It already had the perfect pace and weight that hits you straight in the gut. We just left out the strings, carved it into the Toxic Trio format, and added a heavy metal touch to it, and it was perfect! This is our tribute to the great Marc Bolan and his brilliant talent as an artist and songwriter. As proven throughout Sahg’s history, we are not afraid to try something new and just let it out there. On the other hand, some might say we are the most traditional metal band around! (laughs) So, I guess everyone will just have to give it a listen and make up their own minds about it.”.
