British heavy metal outfit Scit Scat Wah – featuring Sentinel Daily‘s editor Scott Adams on vocals – have today come out of cryonically-assisted retirement to release their first new music in over a quarter of a century in the shape of their new EP, entitled 1993.
Recorded, appositely enough, in 1993, the band were forced to shelve release of the tracks featured due to the age old story of straightened financial circumstances and today sees the first ever commercial release of Fire in my Heart, My Way of Life and Blackheart.
Says Adams: “These tracks have been kicking around in my archive for a long, long time. They were only ever intended as demos – a starting point for more sophisticated versions of each of the songs – but on revisiting them I felt they were good enough to see the light of day. All three tracks were recorded in one take with no overdubs, and we’ve left all the glitches in for your delectation just as nature intended. It’s raw, it’s far from perfect, especially the vocals, but it’s us as were were and I love it. I hope a few other people will too”.
Adds drummer Ross Haynes: “We liked a time change, didn’t we?”
1993 is available only through Bandcamp as a digital only release.
