Greetings, and thanks for having a chat with us! First off, could you please identify yourself, and your role in the band? “My name is Liam Joseph Cormier and i am the lead yell talk scream singer in Cancer Bats“.

Next Question – What was the best album you bought this year? “Sheer Mag‘s Need to Feel Your Love was hands down best album of the year”.

Here’s a taste of it for Sentinel Daily readers who might not be familiar with the band…

And what was the highlight for you personally in the last year? “This year has been huge for me outside of music – I started a clothing brand and this year has been about really pushing it and seeing it really turn into something solid”.

Good news! and good luck for the future with that! Now, what about lowlights? Who stunk the place out musically in 2017? “I think as long as people are having fun making music there’s no stinkers at all. I like looking more at the good vibes out there”.

That’s probably a very wise stance to adopt. Moving away from music again, what have you found disappointing about the wider world in 2017? “I cant deny that there’s tons of bogus things happening in the world and I am by no means trying to ignore any of them, but I would say that currently its not hard to find all the harsh things out there, i’m more trying to focus on the positive things in life”.

Again, a good attitude to take. And talking about positive things, what’s on the cards for the band/you in 2018? “Were coming to Australia in February with Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes!”

Now on to less important matters. We’re coming up to the party season – what’s the better night – Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve? And what will you be drinking? “Both are decent but also neither are a big deal ya know? Just 2 two days out of the bigger three hundred and sixty five. Ill be drinking coffee at both”.

What’s the first thing that springs to mind if I say ‘Australian metal’ to you? “MindSnare“.

A name we don’t seem to hear enough of these days! We’ve just started Sentinel Daily Radio – what five songs should every metal radio station have on it’s playlist?
MotherDanzig
For Whom The Bell TollsMetallica
I Mother FuckerChurch Of Misery
Chaos ADSepultura
The WizardBlack Sabbath

Consider them playlisted! Anything else you’d like to say to the readers of Sentinel Daily? “Hi!”

Thanks for taking part! “Thanks for having me!”
