The electrifying Velvet Insane has truly become a force to be reckoned with on the Swedish rock scene. After their critically acclaimed second album Rock ‘n’ Roll Glitter Suit was released in 2020 (spending seven weeks on the Sentinel Daily top thirty album chart and landing at #39 on our year-end rundown), the band hit the road to play as many shows as they possibly could, touring Scandinavia, UK and Spain.

Rock ’n’ Roll Glitter Suit boasted collaborations with both Nicke Andersson (The Hellacopters/Lucifer) and Dregen (Backyard Babies/The Hellacopters) on the single Backstreet Liberace, that quickly became the bands most streamed song on Spotify. Not exactly a surprise considering that the song has a timeless party-anthem feel about it, that makes you want to dance on the tables and go crazy all night long.

Through the years Velvet Insane also set up collaborations all by themselves with well-known musicians like Bruce Kulick (ex-Kiss), Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper), Jesper Binzer (D-A-D) and many more. This band has a knack for making things happen, so fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.

Except for the band’s core members Jesper Lindgren (guitar), Jonas Eriksson (vocals) and Ludvig Andersson (bass), you never know who’s gonna show up on stage (Kleerup has for example joined the band on drums) – but one thing that is guaranteed for sure is that the music will make you move your feet!

High Heeled Monster is the bands third album and it’s recorded in the legendary Sunlight Studio with Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies) as the producer. The album is full of stadium hits with choruses that will echo in your brain for days, powerfull ballads that will shiver down to your core and high energy rock ‘n’ roll that will make you stomp your feet and sing along.

The album is co-written with the Diamond Dogs vocalist Sulo Karlsson and also got Dregen, Chips Kiesbye (Sator) and Bonni Pontén (Asta Kask) on guest vocals.

The band’s guitar slinger Jesper Lindgren is also the founder and guitarist in the supergroup Carr Jam 21, together with other members: Dregen, Ryan Roxie, Jolle Atlagic (Electric Boys, ex-Hanoi Rocks), Kleerup, Mats Levén (Prins Svart, ex-Candlemass, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), Spike (Quireboys) and some other cool cats. Carr Jam 21 is a project to celebrate the legacy of the late KISS drummer Eric Carr, but also the legacy of Kiss in general!

If you’re a fan of true rock’n’roll that sounds like David Bowie joined Sweet, whilst taking inspiration from Hanoi Rocks and The Ark, after a decadent night at one of London’s rock clubs – we assure you that anyone who comes out to see a Velvet Insane concert will leave with a big smile on their face.
