Morbid Angel released their last album, the Kingdoms Disdained full-length, in 2017. The offering reunites founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth with bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker. Captured at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida and produced by Morbid Angel with Erik Rutan, the record delivers eleven pieces of devastatingly dynamic death metal, and was described by Sentinel Daily editor Scott Adams as being “a comforting return to normality with an eye to future redevelopment and expansion… If, as seems certain, the future of the band is to be built around the Azagthoth/Tucker axis forevermore then this is a pretty heartening start to the new era”.
